It should be noted that a good online business will (or should) have a solid business operating history. Quickly jumping into every online business opening everyday, can just as quickly lead to a loss of money. There is a high probability that the owners / administrators are there for a fast buck, have slight to no experience, or just plain lousy business management skills. As quick as the owner / administrator placed the website online, immediate technical & management problems begin cropping up, and the website vanishes in a few days or weeks. In fact, most of the time, for those owners / administrators that are scammers and fast buck artists, the website business will simply vanish over night, or in a matter of days.
Taking a business for a "test drive" in your effort to define it as a "good online business venture", should definitely include knowing the identity of the the owners / administrators. In the anonymity of the online environment, you need to know who you are dealing with, before forking over your hard earned money. A business operating online, without acknowledgement of legitimate ownership, lack of a verifiable physical business location, lack of alternate contact info (phone or other), besides the support or owner / administrator e-mail address, is fraught with perils. There may be a few that does not meet these qualifiers, and turn out to be trustworthy, but quite simply, a very few. (click next below)
